Peter Hunt was appointed Managing Director of BritishAmerican Business in London, in August 2005.
BritishAmerican Business is the leading transatlantic business organization, with 700 member companies in New York and London. It incorporates the former British American Chamber of Commerce (New York/London) and American Chamber of Commerce (UK), which merged in 2000 to create an integrated, truly transatlantic business organization.
Prior to his appointment with BritishAmerican Business, Peter had a wide-ranging career in the British Diplomatic Service.
From 2001-2005, as British Consul-General in Los Angeles, Peter had responsibility for the promotion of British interests, including trade and inward investment matters, in five western US states.
From 1997-2001, as British Consul-General and Director of Trade and Investment in Istanbul, he directed the UK’s trade and investment operations and programmes throughout Turkey.
He spent much of his earlier career in Latin America, with postings to Nicaragua, Venezuela, Uruguay and Chile. He has also served in Western and Southern Africa.
Peter graduated from the University of London; and was honoured as a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2001.
