One Day Workshop

  • Targeted at small groups or several individuals (but can be used for single individuals or single-family units)
  • Covers Business and Living aspects
  • Round Table format preferred (presentation available)
  • $ 1500

A 1-day course provides an understanding of and action plan for all of the cultural challenges associated with a move across the Atlantic, both in terms of doing business and in terms of day-to-day living.

 

This can be more easily targeted at small groups or several individuals, in addition to single individuals and/or single-family units and can be derived specifically from the needs of the assignee(s). Work is done beforehand to ensure the maximum benefit is derived and a workbook is provided to be used during and after the workshop.

 

The module can be delivered in a round-table or presentation format and will cover the range of issues faced by the assignees and shows ways to shorten the settling-in period and allow more effective participation in the new culture

 

Within the Commercial Environment the workshop will deliver;

  • A clear understanding of managing in the new business environment
  • The role of and reaction to decision making
  • Negotiating within the local environment and getting to yes
  • Communicating with individuals, groups, peers and superiors
  • Working processes and how to fit in
  • Conflict and how to manage it
  • The management of teams and ‘teaming
  • Meetings and how to manage them
  • Leadership and what it means in the US and UK
  • The do and don’ts of business
  • A good understanding of the market and its reaction to common marketing practices

Within the living environment the workshop will deliver;

  • A good understanding of daily life in the new country
  • A guide to making friends
  • A guide to basic health and safety information
  • A set of guidelines for life basic paperwork- driver’s license, opening bank accounts
  • A guide to education and the opportunities
  • An understanding of the politics and history
  • A guide to values, traditions and mores
  • An understanding of social structures and how they relate to individuals
  • The do and don’ts of living in America or the UK

At the end of the workshop each person will have their own action plans for any issues related to relocation.
