The credit crisis has had a profound impact on banking, financial institutions and the wider economy in the United States and elsewhere. This year, our one-day conference, “The United States in the post credit crisis world: resurgent or in decline?” will feature a series of presentations and discussion sessions led by global business leaders focusing on the implications, primarily for the United States, of the credit crisis and try to assess the likely effect of the crisis on her future role and authority in the world as well as the future strength of the US Economy, and the US as the world’s locomotive and primary source of technological change, innovation and development.

  • What are the implications of the credit crisis in the US for transatlantic companies and the global economy?
  • Will the US emerge from the crisis comparatively unimpaired or in decline?
  • What are the objectives of the new US Administration and how do they plan to achieve them?
  • What effect has the credit crisis had on major economies and where does free trade and investment, and the prospects for EU (specifically the UK) /US partnership currently stand?

These are some of the questions that will be considered at this gathering of senior business leaders. The 2009 London Gateway will provide the opportunity to network, as well as derive useful information on how to manage your company’s objectives in a post credit crisis world.
