A Briefing with Andrew Sentance, External Member of the Bank of England MPC: The global economy and UK inflation - how far current inflationary worries reflect global developments and how the MPC might respond
Event date: Wednesday October 13th 2010
Regularly quoted in the national press, Andrew Sentance is an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England appointed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2006. He is also a part-time Professor at the University of Warwick, based at the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation, and a member of the Commission for Integrated Transport - which provides advice to the Government on transport policy issues. Before joining the Bank of England, Andrew was Chief Economist and Head of Environmental Affairs at British Airways.
In the build up to the Comprehensive Spending Review which sets to cut public spending dramatically, Andrew Sentance gives an insight into the current state of the UK economy, the predictions for the future and how the recession has shaped our society. Join us for a rare chance to hear an on-record speech and put questions to a well documented, high profile member of the MPC, BoE.
