News Incubator Competition - Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and BritishAmerican Business's Transatlantic Business Development Forum For the second year running, the FCEDA has organised a competition that will give a UK company the chance to win a place in an incubator in Fairfax County, Virginia. The winner of the competition, this year targeted at bioscience companies, will get rent-free office space for a year in a bioscience incubator, along with £40,000 worth of expert business development services. A simultaneous competition will be held in the US with the chance to win a place in a British incubator. Incubators around the UK - under the umbrella of the United Kingdom Science Parks Association (UKSPA) and United Kingdom Business Incubation (UKBI) - will provide the incubator space. The UK winner will be a biotechnology company, but the US winner does not have to come from that field of expertise. The UK competition will be organised by the FCEDA in conjunction with BritishAmerican Business Inc (BritishAmerican Business), UK Business Incubation (UKBI), The South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA), United Kingdom Science Parks Association (UKSPA) and OFEX. The US competition is in conjunction with British Trade International (BTI), the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the British American Business Association (BABA). The closing date for applications is 1 July 2002 and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in November.
