Zagat: Editor Needed for London Nightlife Guide
Last year Zagat published its first London Nightlife Guide covering
over 825 bars, clubs and lounges. This year we are producing an update to
note closings and review prominent new properties. We hope the editor who
works on this project will work on the newly re-surveyed book next year.
Anyone unfamiliar with the Zagat brand can go to www.zagat.com. We publish
a successful London Restaurant guide as well. Zagat reviews are
survey-based, using respondents' comments and ratings to create pithy,
witty and accurate snapshots of restaurants, bars, hotels, golf courses
and shopping venues.
We're looking for a witty writer/editor with a lifestyle/food/booze
background who should obviously be familiar with the London nightlife
scene. A brief job description follows.
For the London Nightlife Update, the local editor will compile a list
(30-50) of new properties to be surveyed online in late March/early April
(tbd) ; read the previous book looking for errors and noting properties
that have closed; write Zagat-style reviews of those properties and place
them into index categories; and write the “What’s New” intro, a 500-word
report that encapsulates current trends in the given market.
The job pays $3,000 U.S., and all candidates must take a writing test.
