InterContinental New York Barclay American Girl® Hotel Package Includes Children’s Charitable Learning Opportunity
New York, NY, January 10, 2010 -- New York’s quintessential classic hotel has created a value-filled package in partnership with the popular American Girl Place® New York store and New York-based Children for Children, which mobilizes the energy and compassion of young people through volunteer opportunities.
Located just a five minute walk from American Girl Place, the InterContinental New York Barclay’s compelling family package, which starts at $279, is offered through December 31, 2010. The package features: a designated American Girl check-in desk; an American Girl DVD to borrow while in-house, an in-room munchies basket; a weekends-only “Kids Eat Free” coupon in which children under 12 years of age eat free with the purchase of an adult meal, and a keepsake American Girl travel bed for the girls’ accompanying “doll” guests. Package is based on two adults and one child per room, $38 per additional child, maximum four people in room. Based on availability. For reservations, call 1-888-424-6835 or 1-212-755-5900.
Upon check-in the young hotel guest receives a Peace Bracelet Service Project kit, designed by Children for Children, for ages 5-15. The kit includes a “how to” guide on creating the bracelet and background on the charities—a women’s shelter or soup kitchen—to which the donation is going. For each bracelet donated, Children for Children will mail the young guest a certificate acknowledging the volunteer’s work. The kit is a great way to introduce global issues affecting women and children and helps teach young people how they can make a difference in the lives of others. Guests can also participate in Children for Children’s Service Projects of the Month, should visits coincide with the organization’s schedule. These are volunteer opportunities in the greater NYC community for ages 5 to 18, accompanied by an adult if under 13. For a schedule of events please visit, www. childrenforchildren.org.
