Fireside Chat with Ambassador Anthony Gardner

Anthony Gardner was appointed by President Obama as the U.S. Ambassador to the EU and served in this role between March 2014 and January 2017.  He was not simply a witness to history—he helped to shape it. Anthony understands the EU, transatlantic relations and is a true advocate for multilateralism and a strong EU – American partnership.

In a conversation led by Public Affairs expert George McGregor, Managing Director, Interel, Ambassador Gardner will use the recent release of his book ‘Stars with Stripes’, expect a deep and personal insight into the importance and inner workings of US/EU relations, particularly in times of growing US-EU tensions, as well as a personal account of historic events such as the Ukraine crisis, the Paris Climate accords or the changing role of China.

Ambassador Gardner’s book ‘Stars with Stripes’ was created at a time of change and restructuring in American foreign policy and transatlantic relations and Tony’s memoir is timely for a world that is facing a new global crisis with transatlantic relations are under greater strain than at any time.
