BritishAmerican Business’ Future Leaders Programme

BritishAmerican Business is delighted to announce the launch of its Future Transatlantic Leaders Programme (FTL), taking place in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in London.

The programme is designed to take the conversation about UK-US relations out of Westminster and go around the country, hearing directly from undergraduate students on what the ‘Special Relationship’ means to them and how the relationship can be made relevant and accessible in the twenty-first century. BAB wants to make the relationship ‘real’ to the next generation of leaders and find out from them how they think the UK and the US can collaborate and work together on issues that matter most to young people.

Universities who have already signed up to take part include:

Future Transatlantic Leaders will demonstrate the shared values and complimenting differences between the cultures of the UK and the US.  It will highlight the opportunities for collaboration and cross-cultural experiences in the US for UK students in both the public and private sector. The ideas generated will be collated and put together in a publication designed to inform the current policy conversation taking place on both sides of the Atlantic about the future of UK-US relations. The programme is being led by BAB Policy Team members Theo Bachrach and Lauren Cataldo.

Theo Bachrach, Policy and Public Affairs Manager, BritishAmerican Business said:

“Getting young people involved is key to making policy relevant and we know from experience that students bring great energy and new perspectives to our policy discussions.  This includes hearing not just about politics but ideas for the future of science, healthcare, technology, the arts etc. We are very happy to be working with the US Embassy on such a forward-looking initiative”.

BritishAmerican Business would like to thank the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Team and Small Grants Program for making this programme possible.
