Dr Walter Boettcher, Chief Economist UK & EMEA at Colliers International takes a look at the state of the UK property market and potential impacts, both local and global, for the year ahead.
Dr Boettcher recently said, of his outlook;
“Since writing this paper, it looks as though a few worries about potential side effects on the UK of various US corporate tax initiatives are less worrisome, as the rapid pace and the scope of proposed reform looks to have moderated. Likewise, the recent US rate rise does not appear to have impacted sterling in any great measure. It may be that Brexit risk as well as risk emanating from US and EU economic and political uncertainties may already be priced into markets. Hopefully the UK’s imminent exit from the EU will be much smoother than the crash out of the ERM in the early 1990s. We’ll see!”
