As the digital and technology economy evolves with speed, established brands and corporations team up with disruptive start-up companies to stay on top of their game. We invited two of the UK’s most innovative Tech start-ups – Dragonfly AI, London Dynamics –, as well as one of their partners,  Bremont Watches and behavioural change expert Jennifer Clinihens, to share with us their growth and expansion story across the Atlantic, and how the power of partnerships formed the foundation of their success.

This event will introduce us to new innovations and trends in tech innovation, especially in AI- and AR- driven marketing and customer interaction, We will understand why it is a win-win situation when large established organisations and newcomers team up.

David is currently the co-founder of Dragonfly AI which launched in Jan 2019. Prior to that David has founded and grown various tech companies within the Digital Marketing space. David has experience across agency, brands as well as technology platforms. In 2014 David successfully exited TagPoints, a Mobile Loyalty platform that he founded. He loves building tech start-ups and being part of the digital world.

Michael co-founded London Dynamics to help businesses introduce an advanced, realistic and functional AR experience from existing websites. It does this in a highly cost-effective way, with a minimum time investment required and no impact on the fluidity of the existing shopper journey.

Developed by the key people who designed and delivered Ikea Place, the company shares a deep understanding of the priorities and pressures affecting retailers, as well as how important it is to find the most efficient ways to adopt changewere.

Michael started on the sales floor in the early days of IKEA’s ultimate rise to global powerhouse. He was invited from Denmark to The Netherlands and later on to America, overseeing the construction, design and launch of IKEA’s stores and becoming responsible for over 500 employees as its first store manager.  Michael was only 35 in 2009 when he was made globally responsible for the company’s customer experience operation.  In 2012, Michael was appointed Senior VP for Digital Transformation and created IKEA’s first digital strategy and innovation lab.  In 2017 IKEA and Apple joined forces to develop a truly remarkable AR app which could showcase the potential of the revolutionary ARKitTM platform.  Michael led the team who delivered the ground-breaking solution in a record 10 week period.

Jennifer Clinehens is currently Director of Customer Experience at Havas helia, where she uses behavioural science and psychology to improve the customer experience for clients like Compare the Market and Lloyds Banking Group. In the past Ms. Clinehens has supported brands such as AT&T, Inc., McDonald’s, O2, and Adidas. The author of two books, her latest is “Choice Hacking: How to use psychology and behavioral science to create an experience that sings.”

Paul Fox has 20+ years of experience in the consumer and technology service sectors leading teams across multiple geographies.

Paul is responsible for leading the growth function within Capita’s largest division, Customer Management (CM) which is shaping customer client experience through a combination of process outsource and digital innovation.  CM have a diverse client base covering both public & private sector.

Paul joined Getronics in October 2014 as Global Business Development Director responsible for leading the development of Getronics global shift to digital solutions and managing the UK sales organization as its CSO.  In August 2017 Paul became CEO of Getronics UK and MD of the international business unit accounting for approximately 40% of WW revenue.

Paul was appointed Global Head of Sales and joined the Getronics management board in July 2018. In this role paul had responsibility for leading Getronics sales strategy across 23 countries accounting for $1.3b of revenue.

Prior to Getronics, Paul held several Samsung management positions, including sales and marketing director for its European IT Division.  Reporting directly to the Korean senior management team, he was responsible for the matrix management of 18 operating countries and ownership of strategic pan-European programs.

Paul’s career began as part of Lexmark’s graduate intake program. During that 10-year period, he held a variety of key sales roles, including large account sales director for UKI, and Geneva-based business development director for Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Paul is 44 years old and outside work he spends time with his family. He has a keen interest in all sports, particularly golf.  Paul is a graduate of Reading University where he studied Politics and International Relations.

EMANUEL ADAM

Emanuel Adam is Executive Director of BritishAmerican Business in London. He is also Director of Policy & Trade at BritishAmerican Business (BAB) with its presence in the UK and the US, and oversees the policy & trade support for the chapters of the British-American Business Council (BABC) across the UK and the US.

In his role as Executive Director, Emanuel oversees the day to day operations of the London office including Membership and Events. In his role as Director of Policy & Trade, Emanuel is responsible for the development and execution of the organisation’s policy advocacy and trade & investment portfolio. He represents leading transatlantic businesses with Governments in the US and the UK.

Emanuel’s work is regularly featured and quoted on matters relating to trade and investment. He has been widely recognized for his trade outreach campaign work on transatlantic trade and investment.

Before assuming his current position, Emanuel worked at BritishAmerican Business as Analyst, Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Policy & Trade. Prior to joining BAB, Emanuel was a Policy Advisor at the Trans-Atlantic Business Council (TABC) and EU Administrator at the former TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD), in Brussels.

Emanuel holds a MA in Public Policy and Administration from University of Potsdam, Germany; further academic institutions he studied at include the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany; Sciences at Sciences Po Paris, France, and Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, US. Emanuel is an Alumni of the Foundation of German Business (SDW) and the Fulbright Commission.

Emanuel is a German-born national, fluent in German, English and French.
