LONDON – October 19, 2015
Squire Patton Boggs has hired technology corporate finance specialist Dale Huxford as of counsel in its Corporate practice in London. Mr. Huxford joins from consultancy BroadTech Global, prior to which he was a member of the Emerging Companies Group at Orrick in London, where he focused on legal services tailored to early- and growth-stage technology companies through all phases of his clients’ life cycles.
Before moving to the UK and completing an MBA at the University of Cambridge in 2010, Mr. Huxford was based in Silicon Valley, where he worked closely with tech companies and investors on a wide range of corporate finance matters and M&A and joint venture transactions. A member of the State Bar of California, his practice focuses on bridging the divide between Silicon Valley and European technology companies, spanning across multiple geographic and commercial sectors. Mr. Huxford has worked with clients in the consumer e-commerce, interactive entertainment, digital media, cloud services and cybersecurity sectors.
“We’re delighted to have Dale Huxford with us,” said Jane Haxby, EMEA head of the Global Corporate Practice. “Dale’s own experience in connecting Silicon Valley investors and buyers with fast-growth tech companies reinforces the sector expertise we already have in centres such as Palo Alto/San Francisco, London, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney.”
“Technology is one of the core areas that we focus on at the firm; we have clients who are developers, manufacturers and distributors of technology products and services, including computer hardware and software, e-commerce, FinTech, IT and outsourcing services, semiconductors, games and entertainment and media. In particular we serve clients who seek a cross-border, cross-practice business solution, not just in corporate (where over the past two years we have completed more than 60 deals for technology sector clients), but also in data protection and cyberscecurity, financial services, intellectual property, employment and tax.”
Mr. Huxford commented on his appointment: “This is a great opportunity. With Squire Patton Boggs’ deep know-how and broad global reach, the firm is almost uniquely positioned to support both emerging companies looking to access Silicon Valley and US investment, as well as US companies wanting to expand in EMEA or Asia. I’m excited to be a part of the overall effort, and I look forward to adding my experience and practice strengths to the team, and to continue building on the foundation that’s already been set here.”
