BAB CEO Jeffries Briginshaw has issued the following statement in regards to a pledge outlined by the Prime Minister in the Conservative Party Manifesto to double the immigration charge for companies employing non-EU workers.
“At a time when UK businesses are already facing unprecedented uncertainty, these changes would, if implemented, be troubling. Skilled migration to the UK continues to drive innovation and growth across every sector of the economy and such a change would make it harder for companies to attract the global talent they need. The transatlantic businesses that BAB proudly represent value the UK’s openness to the best and brightest from around the World. We would encourage the Prime Minister to review this change and call on all parties to ensure the UK remains an open and attractive place to do business.”
In 2015 BritishAmerican Business made a submission to the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) emphasizing the importance of skilled migration, stating that it increased the attractiveness of the United Kingdom to overseas companies.
