Celebrating Diversity & Equality
In an ongoing effort to celebrate equality and diversity in the U.K.—and mark the momentous 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in England and Wales— Love is GREAT targets LGBTQ audiences as well as influencers in the U.S. and Australia.
Britain is full of incredible experiences for everyone that are not available anywhere else—and LGBTQ travelers should feel welcome no matter which region they choose to explore. As such, our comprehensive city guides provide valuable travel information, including dining, nightlife, and accommodations.
As of February 2017, Britain was 13% cheaper for visitors from the U.S. than the same month last year. Latest data shows that flight bookings from the U.S. to Britain from March to August 2017 is up 38% compared to the same period during 2016.
Last year was also a record-breaker for inbound tourism to the UK with 37.3 million visits, up 3% on 2015 with visitors spending £22.2 billion, matching 2015’s record spend. The figures indicate strong growth in 2016 from North America with 4.3 million visits, up 7% on 2015. Comparing growth during the last six years shows there were 7.5 million more visits in 2016 than 2010, an increase of 25%.
During this historic year, and with all of the challenges that the LGBTQ community continue to face, it is imperative that Britain maintains its status as a modern, diverse, and open destination.
