Young Professional Series
Inspiring the Next Generation

BritishAmerican Business is starting a new Young Professionals series, focusing on inspiring stories of entrepreneurs, which are told through fireside chats, and aimed at our network of rising professionals. This event offers a great opportunity for our young professional members to meet innovative entrepreneurs who will discuss their journey, the development of their work, and offer practical advice for those aspiring to be/work with entrepreneurs.

The Young Professional event series provides a dynamic platform for individuals to make new connections and practice networking skills amongst a diverse set of motivated peers from the BritishAmerican Business network. Designed for members with up to 15 years of professional experience, this interactive and engaging series helps pave the way for the leaders of tomorrow to meet and converse with one another as well as form longstanding, beneficial relationships.

Amanda Thomson, CEO and Founder of Thomson & Scott

Amanda Thomson is CEO and Founder of B Corp certified Thomson & Scott, voted one of Business Insider’s Coolest People in Food & Drink 2019, and is leading the global shift to alcohol-free drinking with her game changing Noughty – the first top quality organic, vegan non-alcoholic low sugar sparkling wine.

Thomson & Scott is also driving the debate for greater transparency in wine production and labelling.  Thomson wants consumers to push to know what’s in their wine bottle.  To this end, the company produces limited edition no added sugar vegan Champagne, top quality organic and vegan Prosecco alongside its alcohol-free bottle – Noughty.

“I recognise that alcohol is the new tobacco. We are offering consumers the chance to make a change without disrupting their desire to party.  Sparkling wine is a celebration, but it needn’t be alcoholic to be rock ’n’ roll.”

Raised on a plant-based, no sugar diet by her health-conscious mother, Thomson has always had a keen interest as to what’s in her food.  Formerly an Arts Broadcaster at the BBC, Thomson moved her young family to Paris and studied for her Diploma in Wine at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School where she was Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 and an EY Winning Woman.

Thomson & Scott now sells in key territories around the world including the U.S., Canada, Dubai, South Africa, New Zealand, and Mexico.  From day one, the company has had many big name fans but it doesn’t use influencers or sponsorship deals to push the brand.  Instead it has built smart partnerships with like-minded pioneering brands.
