Meet the Speaker:

Andrew McKenzie

Director of Strategic Business and Partnerships, Schneider Electric

Andy has over 20 years’ experience working in the energy and sustainability sector. His career has spanned a broad variety of energy related projects and programmes and his background includes extensive experience with renewable energy, smart infrastructure, decarbonisation strategies and sustainability. Most recently he was recruited to join the Schneider Electric UK&I strategy team as Director of Strategic Business and Partnerships (including digital consultancy and circularity) reporting to the VP of Strategy.

Prior to this, Andy was the Commercial Lead for Schneider Electric’s Microgrid business in the UK&I. Working as part of the global microgrid team, he developed the commercial offer and training plans for the solution in the zone, collaborating closely with the microgrid technology team to deploy a market leading electrification solution. The Microgrid technology is now an integral part of project designs incorporating on-site generation, energy storage and electric vehicle technologies. Prior to this, Andy worked in a variety of roles for multi-nationals and system integrators, focusing on strategic decarbonisation, smart technologies, energy as a service and innovation around energy management and infrastructure at a senior management level.

At the start of his career, Andy worked eight years for the award-winning Community Energy Plus and Low Carbon Futures, where he held a series of senior positions in business development, technical support, and project management. Andy is an environmental scientist by training and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Plymouth in Environmental Resource Management and graduated from the Camborne School of Mines having studied Environmental Science and Technology.
