About The Stir
“The Stir” is BritishAmerican Business’ inclusion & diversity initiative. Launched in 2011, this critical program series has grown and evolved in response to the changing needs and themes within the transatlantic business community. In name, ‘the Stir’ acknowledges a shift from internal conversations siloed among female professionals, to a broader conversation for all to have around not only gender parity issues, but also diversity, inclusion and issues that impact minorities of all types.
In short, we are creating a stir: an open, honest conversation on how diversity & inclusion are not just good for business, but vital.
Together with our partners, BAB continues to remain vigilant in addressing this issues via a series of content-rich and community-building programs featuring the latest research, best practices, and real-world examples to make our case.

BAB brought together champions of diversity & inclusion from across our network to spark intimate compelling conversations on common diversity & inclusion challenges and successes in the workplace, to strengthen the sense of a D&I-focused community between financial services members in our network.
From the Backroom to the Front Lines: Fighting for Gender Equality in STEM
This panel discussion looked at the myths about why women are under-represented in the tech & STEM sectors, and the challenge in addressing this internally within large corporations.
In partnership with YSC, BAB hosted a workshop on “Conscious Inclusion in the Workplace,” featuring an expert-led exploration of unconscious bias and accidental discrimination in the workplace, as well as well as approaches to mitigate these effects.
Speak Up: Men Advocating For Women’s Leadership
A panel of experts and male champions, led by former NFL player, Wade Davis, asked the most essential questions to engage men in women’s leadership and included insights from YSC, Marsh & McLennan companies, BNY Mellon and Thomson Reuters.
