Ben is Resident Managing Director of Aon’s Nashville office. Ben works with clients and colleagues to develop and implement strategies that reduce their total cost of risk and is responsible to help deliver seamless service to clients.
Ben earned an BBA degree in Marketing and graduated cum laude from The University of Memphis where he was a four-year-varsity letterman on the track and field team.
Ben started his career in 1991 as an employee benefits consultant with UNUM in Memphis. He was quickly promoted to market manager and opened a Nashville sales office where he managed accounts with 2,000+ employees. His team was ranked one of the top sales office in the country. In 2007 Ben formed his own independent insurance brokerage and consulting firm, The Hanback Group. In 2008, he was the winner of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce’s “Nashville Emerging Leader Award” for business. His firm was a finalist for the “Best In Business” and “Small Business Award”. In 2013 Ben sold his firm and was named Senior Vice President at Regions Insurance.
Ben has served on the board for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank, Miriam’s Promise and various other charities in the Middle Tennessee area. He has made numerous appearances on Fox News discussing healthcare issues and has a regular column in the Tennessean newspaper called “Business Focus”.
Ben was named to the Top 40 Under 40 (Top 40 business and community leaders under 40 years of age by The Tennessean newspaper in 2005.
Ben and his wife Brittany reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children, Campbell and Bella.
