On November 17, 2025, BritishAmerican Business convened a meeting of the U.S.–UK IP Working Group in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Innovation Policy Center.
Stakeholders from across BAB’s transatlantic network joined a discussion featuring Kelly Anderson, Executive Director, International Policy, Global Innovation Policy Center at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Tanuja Garde, Director of Intellectual Property, Government Procurement and Competition Division at the World Trade Organization who delivered keynote remarks.
The conversation covered collaboration within multilateral organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) to advance an affirmative IP agenda; emerging IP issues including in the context of the U.S. – UK Tech Prosperity Deal, Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), and supporting SME growth through IP-backed finance; and opportunities for strengthened government-to-government engagement including through the WIPO Standing Committee on Copyrights and Related Rights and WTO 14th Ministerial Conference.
Commenting on the meeting, Emanuel Adam, Chief Trade and Policy Officer, said:
“Today’s meeting builds on the collaborative efforts between BAB and the U.S. Chamber Global Innovation Policy Center to advance a business-led approach to protecting intellectual property in global markets.
“Ensuring that clear safeguards exist so businesses can innovate, invest, and compete fairly in the global marketplace is essential. We welcome the continued engagement from governments on both sides of the Atlantic to address these issues and look forward to continuing this important work. We thank Kelly Anderson and her team at the US Chamber for spearheading this dialogue together with our team.”
