In response to comments made by the US National Security Adviser, John Bolton, that the UK is “first in line” for a trade deal with the United States, BAB Director of Policy & Trade, Emanuel Adam published the following statement:

“We welcome US National Security Adviser, John Bolton’s visit to the UK; and in that context his message that the US would be willing to agree to strengthen economic cooperation on a sector-by-sector basis if and where the UK is free to do so.

Focussing on areas where there is common ground, and easily achievable goals between the US and the UK is something the transatlantic business community has repeatedly asked for. It is a sensible approach that takes into consideration political realities and lessons learned from the past, yet that allows for progress in the interest of our businesses, economies, and global trade”
