In response to the news that the European Commission has launched the process towards the adoption of two adequacy decisions for transfers of personal data to the United Kingdom, BritishAmerican Business Executive Director and Director of Policy & Trade, Emanuel Adam said:
“We welcome today’s announcement that the EU has reached a preliminary decision on data adequacy for the UK. In the wider context of disruption to trade over the past 12 months, today’s announcement is a step in the right direction: companies operating between the UK, EU, and the US need regulatory predictability and the certainty that they can continue basic business operations. We know this is not the end of the process and look forward to supporting efforts to ensure data continues to flow unhindered, both between the UK and the EU and across the Atlantic.”
