“BritishAmerican Business (BAB) welcomes the Chancellor’s announcement of the new Office for Investment: Financial Services. Now more than ever, there is intense global competition for investment, and this initiative will help ensure the UK remains a top destination for US capital, talent, and financial services companies.

“A dedicated Office for Investment will make it easier for US companies to navigate the UK system, by providing a clearer point of entry for investors – something a number of other countries do very well, and which helps them attract globally mobile capital.

“We also encourage the government to consider extending this model of dedicated investment support across other key sectors – from life sciences and technology to advanced manufacturing – where US investment continues to drive innovation and growth.

“BAB stands ready to work with the government, the City of London Corporation, and our partners on both sides of the Atlantic to ensure this initiative delivers maximum benefit to investors and the wider UK economy.”
