Emanuel Adam is the Executive Director for BritishAmerican Business (BAB) in London, which incorporates the American Chamber of Commerce in the UK. In this capacity, Emanuel is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the UK branch, including strategy, budget, staff and network. In addition to his managerial role, Emanuel leads on the organisation’s transatlantic policy and trade portfolio.
Having spent a decade working in transatlantic trade, first with the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD), later the Trans-Atlantic Business Council (TABC) in Brussels and today with BAB in London, Emanuel is a known expert and stakeholder in the field of transatlantic economic relations. He work background covers the coordination of business input to major transatlantic trade negotiations. Current areas of work include the debate around digital taxation, the transatlantic tariff disputes, the UK trade policy agenda, the current restrictions on transatlantic travel, transatlantic labour mobility, transatlantic data flows post-Privacy Shield, and access for smaller businesses to international trade (agreements).
Emanuel is regularly invited as a guest speaker and participant at events and university lectures. His work is regularly quoted on matters relating to his work portfolio in UK, U.S. and European media outlets. Emanuel has been widely recognized by both the UK and U.S. Governments for his trade outreach campaigns (six to date) in the UK and the US.
