The transatlantic economic relationship between the UK and the US is one of the world’s economic success stories. Yet it is also in a time of change. Within the last two years, both the UK and the US are have entered a path to re-define their trading relations in the world. Businesses on both sides need to adjust to these changes, but also take a leading role in grasping any opportunities that these changes can present.

As a leading transatlantic business network, we convene leading and growing companies in the transatlantic corridor, we help our member companies navigate the ever-changing transatlantic business environment, and we help shape Government policies in the interest of our members, whether it be on international trade or domestic policies that define the attractiveness of both the UK and the US.

As part of our growing ambition to be a voice of transatlantic business, we are looking for an Events and Programme Manager to join our team. Based in the BAB London office, the Events and Programme Manager will be responsible for key components of BAB’s events programme (approximately 60 events per year), with an emphasis on the production of content.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of transatlantic business, news and policy, a commercial and strategic mindset, as well as a personal excitement for transatlantic business and politics.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To lead the content and speaker development for relevant BAB London event programmes and activities built around BAB ‘s Policy Agenda (Growing Economies, Trade, People/Diversity)
  • Identify key themes for panel discussion
  • Identify key speakers and moderators from member companies and external sources
  • Identify key areas of research to build into events
  • Identify and coordinate speakers and moderators pre-event and onsite
  • Identify key sponsors for events programme
  • Identify key audiences for events programme
  • Build relationships with sponsors
  • Work with sponsoring companies to ensure contract fulfilment
  • Develop marketing plans for BAB events
  • Develop external approaches and new audience target lists for events
  • Produce event briefs for speakers and sponsors
  • Represent BAB at internal and external events, with the ability to speak publicly and to moderate events and meeting sessions

Candidate Profile:

  • A genuine interest in transatlantic trade and investment, policies, business news and political developments
  • A minimum of two years experience in event programme development and management.
  • High-level of verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical skills; combined with critical and creative thinking
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Professional and appropriate attitude towards engagement with high-level stakeholders
  • Ideally, an existing network of key stakeholders in UK/US Governments, businesses and other relevant stakeholders
  • Previous experience in a not for profit or membership organisation
  • Ability to engage with senior government and business leaders
  • Ability to speak publicly and to lead/moderate events/meetings
  • An openness to be active and visible on social media and in the media
