London – BritishAmerican Business welcomes today’s meeting between the UK International Trade Secretary, Liz Truss, and U.S. Trade Representative, Robert Lighthizer. It is an important step towards upgrading the already vibrant trade relationship our two countries enjoy.

Looking ahead, a strong sense of urgency and purpose is needed in order to make use of the current window of opportunity to advance trade discussions. Over the next months, we will be supporting the two governments as they work to reach an agreement by ensuring that there is regular contact with, and feedback from, businesses large and small on both sides of the Atlantic.  Securing commitments in a reasonable time frame on such issues will be key to sustaining political momentum for a transatlantic trade agreement, regardless of its final format.
