Meet the Speaker: Stella Ezeogu, Financial Controller, HMRC

Stella is a ACCA qualified accountant specialising in financial reporting, consolidation and tax.

She is currently a Financial Controller in HMRC, leading and controlling UK Transition Budgets. She has worked in several high-profile roles including advising on high profile tax avoidance and evasion cases, providing expert finance and tax advice on key government initiatives and has played a key role in preparing the Annual Accounts for the whole of the UK public sector.

She sits on several diversity and inclusion advisory boards across government, to ensure that root causes are identified and appropriate timely action is taken.

Stella is also a Co-founder of EmPact Consultancy, a Social Enterprise aimed at furthering the chances of career success and social mobility for Black and Black Neurodivergent individuals, whilst helping organisations to break down racial barriers.

Through EmPact she works with Black people to help them realise their skills and strengths. She empowers them to obtain careers they feel are out of reach as well as supporting with career advancement, through EmPact’s programmes and coaching. Stella also advises organisations on their  Diversity and Inclusion goals; her strategies and advice have fostered  cultural change leading to better diversity. Stella is uniquely well placed, because of her lived in experiences and professional experience, she is able to bridge the gap between what organisations are trying to achieve and what is really needed for the underserved.
