The 5th Edition of the BAB / Bain & Company Transatlantic Confidence Index

Monday, September 8th

2025 is proving to be a defining year for the transatlantic business corridor. In the UK, slow economic growth and persistent concerns over the tax environment continue to challenge investor confidence, even after the publication of the government’s long-awaited Industrial Strategy. Meanwhile in the US, the introduction of volatile tariffs on global imports has led to retaliatory responses and increased operational costs with no clear de-escalation path in sight.

Yet, it’s not all caution.  Rapid advances in AI and clean energy, coupled with a highly skilled workforce on both sides of the Atlantic are unlocking new investment potential across multiple sectors. Meanwhile, confidence in the future of the UK-EU relationship has reached its highest level since Brexit.
