A New ESG Era: Impacts & Trends in 2021

Against the backdrop of multiple converging crises — the global pandemic, rampant inequality, and climate change — how will corporate sustainable governance evolve as we work towards rebuilding our economy through 2021 and beyond?

Sustainability considerations are increasingly at the forefront of business strategies, and are being incorporated widely into company policies, corporate governance frameworks, and the lending & investment decisions of financial institutions. While it’s become clear that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration is a priority, for companies there is still a lack of clarity on the right roadmap to meet these targets.

Join BAB’s panel of experts to gain a nuanced view of future ESG trends and disruptions. The panel will explore:

  • The impact of ESG integration across industries, how scoring has evolved since 2019, and the impact of different risk considerations on the corporate sector

  • How new developments in standards-setting and data reporting requirements — such as the EU Taxonomy Regulation — will affect companies globally, and test issuers & investors

  • How the UK fits into the European Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation (SFDR) policy, and whether the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will create a similar regime

  • Insights on ways the “path to net-zero” will introduce economic shifts and new social pressures that impact risk
